I changed the settings for a loop but when I play it on the PC. it doesn't play
at the tempo I specified.
The settings only work when played on the JamMan itself.
I setup a loop, copied it to the PC, then copied it back to another location on
the device. All the settings were defaulted.
The settings should follow the file if you are using LooperTools. If you renamed
the file that might be the problem, as the settings and the file got out of sync.
If you want to copy a loop to another location on the device, drag and drop the
loop from one location to another directly on the device list.
How do I select multiple loops?
To select multiple loops one at a time, hold down the CONTROL key while clicking
on each item. To select a group of loops, first select the first loop, then hold
down the SHIFT key and click on the last loop in the group.
I know there are more file types in my library folder, but I only see .wav files.
The PC list is only set to display .wav files as these are currently the only files
that can be used on the JamMan.
When I drag one or more files from the PC to the JamMan, they are copied into the
wrong locations!
Make sure that when you drop the files on the JamMan list, that the mouse is over
the location at which you want them to start copying to.
I named my loops Loop1, Loop2, Loop3, etc. but when I copy them to the JamMan they
end up in the wrong locations!
Make sure that when you drop the files on the JamMan list, that the mouse is over
the location at which you want them to start copying to. The names of the loops
have nothing to do with where they end up on the JamMan
Do I have to name my loops Loop1, Loop2, Loop3, etc. like the way they named on
the JamMan?
No, you can name them anything you like. LooperTools will take care of renaming
them internally when you copy them to the JamMan.
Accessing and changing loops while connected to the JamMan is very slow. Can you
speed this up?
This is a function of the device's USB transfer speed. To speed it up, either use
shorter loops (less to transfer) or pull out the Compact Flash card and access it
directly using a card reader connected to your PC. This will be much faster.
Do you support the Roland® BOSS® RC-20?
The RC-20 does not have a USB port or a removable memory card so there is no way
for a PC to connect to it.
Will you support the Roland® BOSS® RC-50?
We are looking into this.
I adjusted the tempo in LooperTools for a loop, but it didn't change when played
on the JamMan.
Adjusting the tempo will change the metronome tempo, but not the playback speed
of the loop. We are looking into a way of resolving this.
Can I use LooperTools on my Mac?
LooperTools will run on a Mac using VirtualPC, You will need to be able to access your USB ports (for help with this read this). If you are interested in running LooperTools on a Mac, please contact us so we can add you to the list.
LooperTools Pro
How do you covert an MP3 file to the JamMan pedal?
If you select the MP3 file on the left side and choose Edit|Convert to JamMan WAV, LooperTools will create a new WAV file. For example, converting "file.mp3" should generate a "file.wav" file in the PC window. You can then drag this WAV file to the JamMan. You can also just drag the MP3 file from the PC to the JamMan and it will be converted to a compatible WAV format on the device automatically.
DigiTech® JamMan® Looper
Can I control my JamMan with LooperTools?
LooperTools is basically a file manager, enabling you to backup, edit and perform
other operations on the files on your JamMan, but it cannot directly control it.
Can I access files stored on my PC from my JamMan?
No, When the JamMan is connected to the PC, it goes into a mode where it is seen
by the PC as a disk drive. While in this mode, the device is unusable as a looper.
I copied a wav file to the device/card, but when I tried to play it on the device,
it said there was no loop there. When I opened the device/card in LooperTools,
the loop was gone.
The JamMan will delete any loops that are in an incompatible format. The only
compatible format is 16-bit, mono, 44.1KHz wave.
Can I actually control the JamMan from LooperTools?
No. LooperTools just manages the loops on the JamMan.
.NET Framework
When I installed LooperTools, it tried to download something from the Internet!
LooperTools is written using the Microsoft® .NET Framework 2.0. If you don't
have this on your PC (chances are that you do not yet) the installer will attempt
to download and install it. This is the only thing the installer will attempt to
download. If you are installing to a computer that does not have fast connection,
or none at all, you can download the .NET Framework from the LooperTools download
page and install it manually so that the installer won't try to do it.
What is the .NET Framework and why do I need it?
The .NET framework is basically a programming interface for Windows. It has
been out for about 6 years now, is a proven technology, and will not harm your computer.
In fact, if you are running Windows XP or Server 2003, an earlier version of it
is already installed. .NET 1.0-3.0 come preinstalled with Windows Vista. It is not compatible with Windows 95.
LooperTools is written using the .NET Framework version 2.0 and thus requires it
to be installed to run on your machine.
How do I obtain the software once I make a purchase?
LooperTools is delivered only by download. If you need a physical installation, we suggest you download it and either burn it to a CD or use a thumb-drive to transfer it. If this doesn't work for you, contact us and we'll send you a CD for an extra charge.
The .NET Framework download is large, can I download only the parts I need?
Unfortunately not, you will need to download the whole thing. For 32-bit versions,
this is about 22M, for 64-bit systems this is about 45M. If you have a broadband
connection this will go quickly. If not, we suggest you find one and download it
on that connection, copy the framework to a CD, and install it from there. Otherwise,
you might consider upgrading to cable or DSL as prices have dropped recently.
